Ana Botía, Marta Mármol, Belén Martí Lluch and Marina de Remedios are Mucha Muchacha. As a young company that was born from Spanish dancing, they feel the urge to work from a contemporary perspective, constantly in dialogue with the current framework of living arts, making them part of their perspective and their language, looking for a close relationship with the audience and pushing the borders of scenic innovation.
They’ve created, among others, ‘Volumen 1’ and ‘Mucha Muchacha’.
In order to broaden the horizons of the scene and the collective, Mucha Muchacha creates and produces ‘Les Tournesols’ and ‘Voces’ (San Fernando Royal Academy of Arts, 2014) as well as screendance pieces such as ‘SELFI’ (Matadero cultural centre, 2016), ‘La perra de Goya’ (Milk&Honey award, 2016) or the recently choreographic assemble for ‘Renaissance’ (La Tristura company, 2020).
Furthermore, they also foster creation and research contexts such as #DANZAESPROFESIÓN, which focuses on the reality of professional dancing in contemporary society, or else, Party-Workshops, where they share choreographic materials with groups of women from different nationalities with and without dancing and performing training or formal education.
